Visiting Panti Wreda Melania

Since I join the KEP in Theresia Church, we have to visiting a ‘panti’ at least one. I and my group still dont have any idea where to go, so we join the other team. Luckily, they allow me with pleasure. haha.

Today we go to Panti Wreda Melania at Rempoa Bintaro. We met at Tante Lucy house at jalan Lombok Menteng. I was surprised when I get there, thought that I was the first. But i was wrong, the others already came. what a pity. hehe.

I, Mely, dan Jimmy joined tante Lucy and his husband in one car. Because the only one who knew the way was tante Lucy, so we lead the trip. However, we got lost because we, (tnt lucy and mely), talk too much. we passed the toll gate.

We arrived at panti at about 10 o’clock. Grandma and Grandpa welcomed us. They are 50 in total, 45 woman and 5 man. Almost of them used wheel-chair, and there rest need guidance to walk. There are three nurse who take care of them. I saw their face, they were so happy. We assembly at Chapel. Levi opened the talk. We sing together, dance, hear the Grandma and Grandpa sing. I was proud of them, they still have a good voice and memories.

I met Grandma Ana, she is from Gorontalo but spent her childhood at Makassar. Finally i can used my makassar accent. hahaha. Also Grandma Jeanny, the woman with good english. She can not speak Bahasa. We talked many things, she give me some advice, encourage me. Oh, she also talked about Jonathan Parapak when I told her that I am from toraja. She said that she was his secretary, she knew him so well.Jonathan is a famous man from Toraja. She adored him so much. She said that she saw him in me. HAHAH.. ohh.. aminnn..

There still a question that untold. I am curious why they are there. Are they sent by their relatives? Are they visited regularly? I heard many that some family send their parents to panti because they wont to take care of their parents. A grandma tell me that she was very bore because there is nothing to do there. Just eat, sleep, sit, and do it again.

After share the present to them, we permit to leave. Tante Yeyen and Koko invited us to have lunch together at JW Marriot. Oh, thaks God for your blessing today. We eat so many food. You know, anak kost. As usual. After that we went to Theresia to attend mass at 5pm.

If I were You

This song is not very popular one from Hoobastank, but I still consider it as a great song.  Suddenly played on my playlist. reminds me of old memory at highschool. I did not really understand the meaning at that time, but today, think I know that feeling.

“If I Were You”

You seem to find the dark when everything is bright
You look for all thats wrong instead of all thats right
Does it feel good to you to rain on my parade
You never say a word unless its to complain
Its driving me insane

If i were you
Holding the world right in my hands
The first thing I’d do
Is thank the stars for all that i have
If i were you

Look what surrounds you now
More than you ever dreamed
Have you forgotten just how hard it used to be
So whats it going to take
For you to realize
It all could go away in one blink of an eye
It happens all the time

If i were you
Holding the world right in my hands
The first thing I’d do
Is thank the stars above
Tell the ones I love that i do
If i were you

So whats it going to take
For you to realize
It all could go away in one blink of an eye
It happens all the time

If i were you
Holding the world right in my hands
The first thing I’d do
Is thank the stars above
For the ones I love
Take a breath and enjoy the view
Live the life that I’ve wanted to
If i were you

Pari Island

So thankful to God for superb two-days vacation.

On Saturday, I and my friends went to Pari Island, member of Thausand Island in north Jakarta. We had planed this tour a month ago or more. It was coordinated by Jerry. Anything was good at the end, but not before we reach this Island. We were almost left by boat because of Winda, the girl of the day. Haha.

Meeting point was at Therecia church, but Andre and Jerry suddenly changed the plan. I, Andre, Jerry, Jimmy, and Melly went to Muara Angke by Taxi. It was not that far as i though, only 30 minutes from Sudirman, it should be because there was no jam.

Muara Angke port is so smelly fish. Supir taxi told us that we were lucky because it was after rain, so the smell can be reduced by humidity. Can not imagine if we depart in the middle of the day, the smell would be amplified. Hehe. I always excited when i see the sea. Hehe. We go to our ship and wait there. We were so worried because Rendy team still could not reach Winda. Winda’s train got stuck at Manggarai. However, at the very last, they could make it. The we departed to Pari. yeaa..

The first time landed on a small Island. It was like you escape from mail land an get new life for a while. We lived at a cottage that already included in the package we reserved. The room was clean enough and had air conditioner, the important one. After get ready, we go to the beach by bicycle. Horee. after for long time, i rode bicycle again. Feel strange at the first time, but i got used to soon. We went to Perawan Beach. Beach with white sand. Really beautiful.

Next round was snorkling. Every one was so interesting and happy. Some of us would experience the new first-time-thing. Haha. We use a life-jacket, shoes for snorking and googles. We went to our destination by boat. On the first spot, i got troubled with my google. Water always infiltrated to my eye. So i could not enjoy the view. On the next spot, Jerry gave me his google so I can concentrate and enjoy the excitement. Feeding fish with bread and took picture underwater. After that we also enjoyed the banana boat. So so funnn..

On the next day, we go to Lipi. We saw the star-fish. they are so slick. We take so many cool picture there. After that we go to pantai perawan again and met other people there. we played volley ball until we got red-hand, i mean ‘lebam’. haha.

On 11 pm sharp, we leave to Jakarta.

Jakarta tidy up

Photo: #bench throughout thamrin and sudirman street

What  do you think when you look at this picture? I guess you will assume that it’s taken at somewhere at Italy :P. hehe.  What if I say, I took that picture this morning at Thamrin street in front of Plaza Indonesia. :)

Several days ago in the morning, I was shocked when I walked through pedestrian in front of my office building, The Plaza. I saw a white bench with good old style put on the street. Hmm.. it is a nice one, I thought that is was a property from Plaza Indonesia. Beautiful bench in front of wall-plant, what a good combination. Beside the elegant style, it has a firm material. Look at the wood and the metal-frame, it should be the best and of course the expensive one.

About 10 am, I went to my client by taxi. Throughout Thamrin Street and Sudirman there was many white bench as I saw before. Some bench was put in front of office building, near a lamp pole, under the tree. Wow, cool, I think Jakarta start to tidy up, make a good interior of this crowded city. It is a good idea, try to encourage people to walk and use the pedestrian. We can spend our after-office-our by sit there while waiting for bus or just to relax with friend.

Anyway, there is a little pessimistic thought in my head, soon or later that bench will be pull out, painted by bad guy, and will be take over by pedagang-kaki-lime and claim it as their shop. It is so endonesah.

Then we will see.

Thanks Jokowi Ahok.

I just don’t like them

When the conversation goes to “what kind of food do you like the most?” , I will end up with confuse. May be I will just say “pork”. :D. I am sort of person that not really passionate in eating. But if you ask me ” what kind of food that you hate to eat ?” then I will give you sort of list. I am sure you will rise your eyebrow :D

– Nasi uduk . I dont like it at all. It tasted strange in may mouth. Just give me plain rice.

– Some food with kecap. The same reason. I always ask tukang nasi goreng, bakso, mie ayam,  not to pour kecap to my food. I like kecap when it is added to right food. (my rule).

– Kayu manis. I dont know how to explain, but i dont like the smell.

– Uncooked tauge.  I will ensure penjual rawon to cooked his tauge before serve it to me. Uncooked tauge is bitter.

– Vegetable or Sambel with sugar. Please, sugar is for tea or coffe not for those food.

– Gudeg . I just dont get it.

– Batak recipe. I love pork, but when it cooked with batak recipe, it smells fishy.

The main rule when I enjoy my meal is not add anything, I just like the way they are, plain food.
